(10-1-18) Last week officials from the DuPage Valley Conference visited the DeKalb campus for an official site visit for possible future expansion. The DVC presently has five conference members and hope to add several more in the future.
In an email to SSN DVC President Robert McBride, Ed.D, Principal, Neuqua Valley High School:
The DVC visit to DeKalb High School on Thursday, September 27 was positive and productive. As a conference, we were impressed by the school and community commitment to academics, activities, and athletics. We had the opportunity to hear from school leaders as well as key members of the DeKalb community. The school has the obvious pride, culture, and diversity that we value in the DVC. Additionally, we had the chance to interact with students who have a commitment to excellence. Based on our visit, we plan to continue our discussion with DeKalb High School about its application to our conference. When we have finished that final discussion with stakeholders at all of our schools, I will be sure to contact you with a statement.
The Barbs are the lone remaining NIB 12 to locate a future conference home, recently Yorkville was added to the Southwest Prairie Conference.
