(10-8-18) – This past Friday, 1983 Celina graduate Lorna (Eyink) Seas passed away after injuries she suffered as a passenger involved in an auto accident on her way to see her daughter Jenny compete at a cross country meet in Pickerington (which she won). Her husband Rich, who was driving, was also injured but has been since released from the hospital and their son Nick is still hospitalized at this time.
Seas was a member of the Celina High School Athletic Hall of Fame, she was an out standing cross country and track performer for the Bulldogs during her career in the early 1980’s.
Her Bulldog 3.200 meter relay team won the the 1982 ‘AAA’ OHSAA state championship, along with teammates Cyndy Chapin Beach, Jill Weber Tanaka and Judy Boley Waterman. The team was inducted together as a group in 2008.

In 1982 Seas was one of three Bulldogs to compete as an individual at the 1982 Ohio High School State Championship, she finished 27th.
Her children have also done well at the state level in both track and cross country over the past several years.
Seas husband was the Superintendent of the Coldwater Schools for twelve years, before taking his current position as Superintendent at Adams County/Ohio Valley School .
She leaves behind her husband Rich (a St. Marys graduate) and their eleven children, Ryan Andrew (25), Michael Alan, 24; Christina Marie, 22; Lauren Elizabeth, 21; Daniel James, 20; Matthew Paul, 18; Jennifer Nicole, 17; Stephen Anthony, 16; Katelyn Ann, 14; Samantha Renee, 12; and Nicholas Alexander, 11.
Funeral arrangements are presently being completed with the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Im Lornas first cousin and the entire family will miss her presence terribly. I feel like calling her Saint Lorna for all that she did for her family on a daily basis. We love you Lorna, Rest In Peace. Kathy Eyink Meixner

It was with a heavy heart that I read about the accident. As a runner I took great interest in this running family.
