(2-28-19) Tuesday in a Wisconsin High School boys basketball  D2 region tournament game Pulaski’s Brock Egnarski made a free throw with just 1.4 seconds remaining to lead the Red Raiders to a 67-66 win over Notre Dame Academy.

The game was exciting enough, but after the game is when the fireworks started…and that has created a national buzz.

According to a fox11online.com  Janel Batten, Pulaski’s Athletic Director:

“This parent chose to follow the officials and berate them, which is clearly unacceptable.”

“Some things were said, some language was used that we don’t want in our gym, unsportsmanlike language.”

That parent just happened to be the recently fired Green Bay Packer Coach Mike McCarthy, whose step-son was a member of the Notre Dame Academy team. In the video above you will see McCarthy follow the officials off the floor  after the game while the two teams are shaking hands.

Notre Dame Academy  Athletic Director Steph Mathu:

“We have been contacted by the WIAA regarding last night’s basketball game, and we are currently looking further into this situation. We will continue to stress the importance of sportsmanship and respect to our students, parents, fans, and community members.”

This incident comes after the NFHS and their member state associations asked parents of student-athletes to ‘cool it’.
