Despite overpowering Celina on Friday night Wapakoneta drops down a spot to #3 in D III Region 12 behind #2 Franklin. The other Western Buckeye League team in Region 12, St. Marys remains at #5.
Greenville (5-3) lost a tough one last night to Piqua 21-7 and drops from the top 8 to one spot out of the playoffs at #9. The Green Wave have not qualified for the playoffs since 1996.
In D VI in Region 23, Anna picked up a convincing win (49-8) over Midwest Athletic Conference rival Coldwater last night, but the Cavs move up one top spot to #1 and the Rockets move up one spot to #2. Last week’s #1 Liberty Center lost an early lead being upset by Bryan 35-30 and drops down to #4.
Minster was the 2nd Stateline area to team to pull an upset when the Wildcats knocked off MAC rival (D VII) Marion Local 27-26, but moves up just one spot to #6
All the teams in the top 8 playoff spots are 7-1 on the year….the only undefeated team remaining in the Region is Gibsonburg (8-0). But the Golden Bears find themselves on the outside looking in at #9 with two weeks remaining in the season.
In D VII Region 28, undefeated New Miami (7-0) moves up a spot and takes over the #1 spot passing Marion Local who lost to MAC rival Minster last night. The Flyers drop two spots to # 3 after the loss. Ft. Loramie (7-1) moves up to #2.
MAC member New Bremen (6-2) with their win over Versailles last night moves up 4 spots to #5.
Three Northwest Central Conference teams, Waynesfield-Goshen, Perry and Hardin Northern. hold down the #6, #7 and #8 spots.
