(11-13-19) Two Shelby County League members will be playing in OHSAA Regional Semifinal football playoff games this weekend.
OHSAA Regional Semifinal at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15
Region 23
8 Fairview (10-1) vs. 5 Anna (10-1) at Wapakoneta Harmon Field
Region 28
2 Marion Local (9-2) vs. 3 Fort Loramie (10-1) at St. Mary’s Memorial Roughrider Athletic Complex
The twist to all of this…the SCL does not sponsor football, Anna and Ft. Loramie are the only two in the league that play the game on the gridiron.
Both schools had impressive seasons…Anna won a share of the always tough Midwest Athletic Conference and Ft. Loramie won the outright Cross County Conference championship. Both are football only members of those two conferences, the rest of their athlete teams are members of the SCL.

…about Anna
Anna went from being slightly the odds-on favorite to a 5-in-6 favorite after stomping the best competition they will see all month. Fairview is the 3rd best team remaining in D-VI and the Rockets are -still- 3-touchdown favorites this coming weekend.
…about Ft. Loramie
The de facto state championship will take place in St. Marys where Fort Loramie and Marion Local will square off this weekend. There is about a 4-in-5 chance that the state champion comes from this game. So, if you don’t want to drive to Canton for a state championship, just head to Auglaize County this weekend for the next best thing.

The two teams are a combined 20-2 at this point of the season. Ft. Loramie lost its opener to MAC member Minster 20-13, while Anna’s only loss came to MAC rival Marion Local 17-14.
