UNION CITY, Ind. (11-14-20) – The Union City Lady Indians took the court Friday evening to open their 2020-21 season against the visiting Lady Patriots of Jay County.

UC kept the game close in the first quarter, but went into halftime down 31-17 after scoring just five points in the second quarter.

In the second half, the Lady Indians played well, but were unable to come back from the first half deficit, falling 62-45.

“I thought Jodi (Carpenter) played well for us tonight and we transitioned well. We didn’t rebound well and that is something we will continue to work on so we can grow.”

Union City was led in scoring by Skylie Lutz with 18, followed by Emily Livingston with 13 and Mariah Claywell 7. Jodi Carpenter dished out 6 assists and Claywell picked off 5 steals.

The Indians are 0-1 on the season and back in action tonight at home against Randolph Southern for a varsity only matchup at 6 p.m.
