(11-14-20) After opening the season Friday night with a tough loss, the Union City Lady Indians doubled the score over Randolph Southern Saturday night with a 62-31 win.
They were led in scoring by Mariah Claywell with 24 points, 17 rebounds, 8 steals and 7 assists. Skylie Lutz added 14 points and Emily Livingston contributed 12 to go with her 8 rebounds in the win. Jodi Carpenter had 5 assists for the Lady Indians.
UC head coach Sarah Black
“Claywell played all parts of the game…defense, rebounding and scoring. Nice to get a mark in the win column. Carpenter did a nice job finding the open “man” again tonight. Moved the ball well on rotation when the first look wasn’t there.”
Coach Black added
“We have a few days to get back in the gym and work on our weaknesses before we play conference.”
UC is now 1-1 on the season and will be back in action on Friday at Northeastern for their first Tri-Eastern Conference test.
