(4-3-21) Coldwater lost to Indiana neighbor South Adams 6-2. Usually the box score will give you a good indication of who wins a game…but not this one.
The Cavs out hit the Starfires five to four and Coldwater Freshman pitcher Madison Wendel set a school record in the loss with 19 K’s in a seven inning game.
The game was tied at two with South Adams in the top of the sixth and the Starfires batting…that is when an error would score three runs to score and fourth in the inning.
Jade Baker led South Adams in the circle, allowing just five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven.
Wendel took the loss for Coldwater pitching all seven innings, allowing just four hits and six runs while striking out 19.
Kendra Clune and Grace Stammen both had two hits to lead Coldwater.
Aaliyah Feaster led South Adams with two hits.
