UPDATED (6-4-21) According to a Lima News story…during a hearing today Prosecuting Attorney Juergen Waldick said Jourdyn Rawlins is also facing a separate charge of rape in juvenile court “and a third victim is being investigated as well, with the suggestion that there may be more victims. We (the prosecutor’s office) will be filing an order to have him bound over to adult court” on the rape charge in juvenile court.

The preliminary hearing that was scheduled for Thursday was continued until today. The alleged victim was not present to testify when the hearing started, but she was present today.

After she testified, Rawlins who was out on lower bail after Thursday hearing, had higher bond of $750,000 bond reinstated and was returned to jail and was bound over to Allen County Common Pleas Court. .

(6-1-21) The Lima Police Department arrested Jourdyn Rawlins (18) for Felony Rape (force threat of) on Thursday May 27th and he is now being held in the Allen County Jail on $750,00 bond.

Rawlins, is a recent Lima Senior High School graduate, having graduated just 10 days ago and was pictured receiving his diploma at the D 1 OHSAA District Track meet at Findlay High School on the Lima News web page.

Rawlins starred on both the Spartans varsity basketball team and track team. On May 22nd at Findlay at the D I Track Districts he finished 4th in the long jump….good enough to qualify for the Amherst D I Regionals where he finished 15th in the long jump on Wednesday the 26th, ond day before his arrest.
