(7-3-21) Brady Gabbard was 14 years old and a sophomore at Lawrenceburg Indiana) High School and after a short battle with cancer he passed away on Friday night.

In June Gabbard was diagnosed with Stage 4 renal cell carcinoma after masses were found on his liver and kidneys.

His mother Jennifer told Local 12 News

“Within less than a week, our worlds have flipped upside down with just one doctor’s appointment.”

Renal cell carcinoma

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC), also known as renal cell cancer or renal cell adenocarcinoma, is the most common type of kidney cancer. About 9 out of 10 kidney cancers are renal cell carcinomas.

Although RCC usually grows as a single tumor within a kidney, sometimes there are 2 or more tumors in one kidney or even tumors in both kidneys at the same time.

Stage IV cancer is sometimes referred to as metastatic cancer, because it often means the cancer has spread from its origin to distant parts of the body. This stage may be diagnosed years after the initial cancer diagnosis and/or after the primary cancer has been treated or removed.

Go Fund Me Page has been set-up to help with expenses.

A couple of weeks ago he was feeling bad with stomach pains and losing weight, not being able to eat. When family took him to Children’s the family was told he has stage four cancer. Not knowing how much time he has is just breaking all our hearts. His mother Jennifer, which also has another young child at home ,trying to jumble her around from daycare to babysitters or family ,and keep her life normal as possible is out of work with no pay herself. Bills are piling up and with her having to go back and forth with gas she is just wore out. Let’s help her out to make her life right now a little less stressful for her and her family at this time.

The fund has already raised over $50,000.

A Prayer Service/Memorial will take place Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm at the Multi-Purpose Field in memory of Brady Gabbard. Counselors will be present to provide support.
