(12-30-21) Not many basketball coaches have the opportunity to put together careers that are able to boast 200 or more wins. This week at Norwell (Indiana) both the boys and girls basketball coaches celebrated special wins during Holiday tournaments.
This afternoon Girls Head Coach Eric Thornton, his 24th at season at Norwell, led the Knights to a 55-44 win over Plymouth at Wawasee’s Holliday Shootout and the 400th in his career.
Yesterday Boys Head Coach Mike McBride picked up his 200th career victory yesterday at the Noblesville Holiday Tournament beating Crown Point 49-45. McBride has led Norwell since 2016, before that he was 83-97 in eight seasons at Churubusco,. His best season was 22-4 . He spent four years as the head coach at Triton.
600 combined coaching wins in both basketball programs…highlighted just a day a part….doesn’t happen every day.
