“We knew they (the Lady Hawks) were going to come out and play four physical quarters with us. I’m proud of the ladies for being able to hold them off and get the win.”
“It was a great win for our seniors who played their last regular season at home. Even though we will at least play one more home game in the sectionals, the ladies will definitely remember getting the win for their Senior Night!”
The Lady Indians were led by seniors Mariah Claywell, with 23 points and 15 rebounds, and Emily Livingston, who had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Oaklee Reichard added 13 for the Indians to go along with five assists. Taylee Woodbury and Brenna Price were leading scorers for MV, with 25 and 16 points respectively.
MV fell to Preble Shawnee 60-43 at home on Thursday. The Lady Hawks will wrap up the regular season, as they visit Houston on Monday and return home for Senior Night on Thursday against Dixie.
UC ended their regular season on the road Saturday night with a 52-32 Tri-Eastern Conference victory over Hagerstown. The Lady Indians finish the season 15-8 overall and 6-2 in the conference. They will open postseason action on Friday as they host the sectionals.
