Updated: 3-15-22 ——Thomas P. Tippmann, Jr. (51) of the 8500 block of Flutter Road, was charged Tuesday with causing the death of his wife when operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for operating an off road vehicle/snowmobile while under the influence of alcohol.

Tippmann was released from the Allen County Jail on a $10,000 bond and will appear in court Thursday.

(2-7-22) It was a tragic day for the Tippmann family… Suzanne L. Tippmann, 50, was a passenger on an off-road vehicle that crashed and rolled over about 1 a.m. Saturday on a frozen pond on private property near the 8600 block of Flutter Road in Fort Wayne.

Thomas Tippmann, 51, of Fort Wayne was operating the side-by-side off-road vehicle with three passengers. While maneuvering a sharp turn, the vehicle flipped, ejecting and pinning Suzanne Tippmann underneath.

Suzanne Tippmann was transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

According to the coroner’s office…Tippmann died accidentally from multiple blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash.

None of the vehicle’s occupants was wearing a helmet, safety harness/seat belts or protective riding gear.

Suzanne was killed suddenly in an accident and taken far to soon! All who knew her knew of her big heart and love for her family. She leaves behind Tom her husband, 8 incredible children and her 5 beautiful grandchildren with another sweet granddaughter on the way. They are now faced with a difficult road ahead and unexpected expenses. So many people have reached out with love and support and offers of help. Suzanne Lynne Tippmann, 50, of Fort Wayne was unexpectedly called home to her Father in heaven on February 5, 2022. She was known for being a loving wife, a selfless mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to many.

Suzanne was born on August 21, 1971 in Fort Wayne, IN. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Suzanne is survived by her husband of 29 years Tom Tippmann II; 8 children including Tom (Lindsey) Tippmann III, Meagan (Blake) Noll, Tyler Tippmann, Madelin (Levi) Marshall, Travis (Ashelynn) Tippmann, Troy Tippmann, Trent Tippmann, and Melanie Tippmann; mother Judy A. Patterson; 6 grandchildren including Tom Tippmann IIII, Maci Tippmann, Walker Tippmann, Leo Noll, Thea Noll, and Aria Marshall (on the way); and 5 siblings including Debbie Pelkington, Robert (Kimberly) Pelkington, Christopher (Molly) Pelkington, Kimberly (John) Tippmann II, and Timothy (Lysa) Pelkington. Suzanne was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Robert V. Pelkington and Camilla Pelkington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm, Friday, February 11, 2022 at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 1102 South Clinton Street with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery , Fort Wayne.
