(2-25-22) Veteran Homestead coach Rod Parker will coach the girls Indiana All-Stars team vs. the Kentucky All-Stars in June.

Parker led Homestead to a 23-2 record a Summit Athletic Conference title and a Class 4A sectional title this season. Parker is 379-128 in 21 seasons at Homestead with a state championship in 2017 and another state finals appearance in 2015.

Parker, Moore and Maners

Named as an Assistant Coaches is East Central coach Kevin Moore and Princeton coach Brittany Maners. Moore led the Trojans to a 22-5 season and 4A sectional title this season and is 221-88 in 13 seasons with three sectional titles. Maners is 53-53 in five seasons at Princeton after leading Evansville Central to three 20-win seasons and three sectional titles.

The girls Indiana All-Stars roster will be announced in coming weeks.

Patterson and Claywell

Parker’s top player at Homestead has been McDonald’s All-American Ayanna Patterson who most likely will be named to the team. Patterson is a UConn signee and she is also a candidate for the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year.

Another area player who might be considered is Union City’s Mariah Claywell.

Yesterday she was named the Tri Eastern Conference Player Of The Year. Claywell was one Senior selected, from over 1,600 seniors, for the Indiana top 60 workout.

The Indiana All-Stars will play a girls-boys doubleheader against the Kentucky All-Stars in Owensboro, Ky., on June 11 and the rematch on June 12 at Southport Fieldhouse.
