(3-23-22) South Bend Adams Coach Chad Johnston, who coached the Indiana Junior All-Stars last year in an exhibition game against the seniors at Brownsburg, has been named the head coach of the 2022 Indiana Boys Basketball All-Star team. Johnston will see who will be on the Indiana All-Stars roster when they are are announced in the next two weeks.
Johnston has coached at Adams for five seasons and won his first Sectional title with the Eagles this past season. He spent 15 seasons coaching at South Bend Washington, before moving to Adams.
Johnston will be assisted by Rob Yoder, the former coach at Westview and Brownsburg coach Steve Lynch.
Last season the Hoosiers swept the series…Indiana beat Kentucky 93-70 in Owensboro, Kentucky in the Friday night game to post its 100th win in the series. Indiana beat the Kentucky All-Stars 86-70 on Saturday night at Southport High School.
Indiana improved to 101-44 in the all-time series, which began in 1939.
The Indiana All-Stars will play the Kentucky All-Stars at the Owensboro Sportscenter in Owensboro, Ky., on June 10. The teams will meet again at Southport Fieldhouse the following day. The Junior All-Stars will play the All-Stars in an exhibition game June 8 at a site to be determined.
