(8-18-22) Delphos has had two high schools for a long time, Jefferson and St. John’s. They both have football teams that have had seasons to remember. Despite being in the same town, of just over 7,000 residents, they did not schedule each other in football until 2021.
The two schools compete in different leagues…Jefferson is a long-time member of the Northwest Conference, St. John’s left the Western Buckeye League in the early 1980’s and joined the Midwest Athletic Conference.

New Turf Field – 5-4-21
Delphos City Council suspended the rules and passed an ordinance on a 20-year lease agreement with Champions Field, Inc. to use and renovate Stadium Park to bring in artificial turf. Champions Field, Inc. consists of staff from both Delphos Jefferson and St. Johns who set up a non-profit to fund-raise for the field. They received around $870,000 which will pay for the cost of the field.
