(2-3-23) Crestview will hire Van Wert Offensive Coordinator Cole Harting as the the Knights new head football coach.

Harting has been a part of one of the most explosive offenses in Northwest Ohio.

Harting replaces James Lautzenheiser who resigned in November. Lautzenheiser, had served as an assistant coach and was hired in 2021 as the head coach…he went 10-11 and and led the Knights to the playoffs in 2021. In 2022 Crestview was 1-6 in the Northwest Conference (NWC) and 4-6 overall.

Van Wert Coach Keith Recker told the Lima News in August, 17 2022 –

“We will mix in as many of those formations that we can; and we will take whatever the defense gives us. Our offensive coordinator, Cole Harting, has done a really nice job of just taking what the defense gives us. We’re simple, offensively, with our guys. But, we’re pretty diverse to what we can do. They do a good job of spreading the ball around.”
