(2-13-23) It was the year of the Panthers in what will be remembered as one of the best in school history…besides winning SSN’s Mercer County League, Parkway was also the Co-Midwest Athletic Conference Champions…both for the first time in school history.

This year’s team was Senior dominated with four of the five selections and just one underclassman named.

Making the Parkway team run on all gears this past season is Senior Guard Gabrielle Stober, the four year starter proved that she deserved to be this year’s Player of the Year.

Hughes, Stober and Rismiller

In one of the most difficult decisions to select the POY was the play of two key inside players…Parkway’s Allison Hughes and Coldwater’s Riley Rismiller at 6’1 and 6’4 the two dominated the inside game for their teams.

One Sophomore was named to this year’s team, Marion Local’s Avae Unrast who was a key part in the Flyers season to share the MAC title with Parkway.

Unrast and Klingshirn

Celina four year starter Taylor Klingshirn, had her season cut short due to a knee injury and her loss on the floor showed her impact for the Bulldogs.

SSN’s Mercer County League
Why the MCL?

To add a little extra excitement to the high school basketball season SSN again will bring you the Mercer County League.

The first year SSN introduced the (mythical) MCL was in 2018-19.

All six Mercer County high schools are included, actual head to head match-ups between the schools that will determine a MCL champion in both boys and girls basketball.
