(5-14-23) O-G girls and the Shawnee boys picked up 2023 WBL Track & Field Championship titles.
The O-G girls won the title beating 2nd place Celina 127-89, to picking up back-to-back titles and their 7th title overall (2023,22, 07, 06, 05, 04, 19880)
O-G Alexa Fortman won the 400 (56.72 seconds), 800 (2:13.02) and was the anchor for the winning 1,600 relay. She also anchored the 800 relay that placed second (1:45.76).
The 1,600-meter relay team of Averie Fox,Corinne Closson, Olivia Fenbert and Alexa Fortman,won in a meet-record time of 3:59.35.
Kenton Tatum Miller (Sr) won the girls discus on Wednesday with a toss of 132 feet, 6 inches. Miller came back on Friday night to win the shot put with a throw of 39-9.5.
Celina ‘s Kaylie Dameron (Sr) won the 1,600 (5:17.39) and 3,200 (11:40.62) to lead the 2nd place Bulldogs
The Shawnee boys won their 9th overall title (2023, 21, 1993, 66, 65, 64, 63, 58, 56) beating 2nd place O-G 92-81.
Shawnee’s Noah Williams (Jr) won the 1,600m run with a time of 4:27.39 and the 800m (1:59.71) and was a member the winning 1,600 relay (3:27.32).
