North Putnam To Join New Conference, Leaves Western Indiana Conference

(5-19-23) The fallout continues as North Putnam announces they are leaving the Western Indiana Conference (WIC) to join a new conference with schools who recently left the Sagamore Conference.

The new conference now has six total schools who have committed. In a Jim Reamer (April 15th) tweet he indicated that North Putnam would be joining this group, plus South Putnam and Greencastle. No official indication yet by the other two as of today.

BREAKING: North Putnam has voted to accept the invitation to join a new athletic conference that includes Crawfordsville, Southmont, North Montgomery, Frankfort and Western Boone and will be leaving the Western Indiana Conference as a result.

With the departure of North Putnam, the WIC membership in the future will include….Western Indiana: Brown County, Cascade, Cloverdale, Edgewood, Greencastle, Indian Creek, Northview, Owen Valley, South Putnam, Sullivan, West Vigo.
