(6-20-23) — The Shawnee Schools Board of Education is scheduled to vote tonight on making Mike Lewis the new varsity football coach…who is from within the district.

Lewis had been serving as an assistant under former head coach Jerry Cooper, who left recently to become the head coach at Hardin Northern. Lewis also is Shawnee’s varsity track and field head coach.

Last season Shawnee was 4-6 overall 4-5 in the WBL. The Indians are scheduled to open the season on Thursday August 17th against LCC.
