(9-28-23) When the top 16 teams (up from 8 teams) in a region qualified to play in the state football playoffs it was assumed that would solve all of the questionable situations. In many ways it has…but sometimes it seems something always comes up to give everyone something to talk about.

Let’s take a look at just a couple of those situations—

Had the playoffs started after this past Friday St. Marys would have started getting ready for basketball. The Roughriders have struggled so far this season with a 2-4 record and are on the bubble in the 17th spot. Interesting that five teams, also at 2-4, are above them including WBL rival Kenton.

Delphos St. John’s who has a 3-3 record is on the bubble at 19th…above them in the #12 spot is Lima Central Catholic who they beat in week two of the season. The Blue Jays will play Coldwater and Minster in the next two weeks. Region 26 seems to be loaded, even 2nd year program North Central at 5-1 is just outside the bubble at #16.
