It Has Been A Good Year For ‘Celina’ Football

(11-21-23) The 2023 high school football season has been good for ‘Celina’ football.

The Celina (Texas) Bobcats are 11-1 on the season and will continue its 4A playoff run on Friday night when they play Stephenville (10-2) in the 2023 UIL Texas Football State Championships.

One thing the ‘orange and white’ Bobcats know over the years is football.

Celina has won 8 Texas HS football championships (1974 (co-champs), 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007)

This year has been a year to remember for the Celina (Ohio) Bulldogs (12-2) in the D III playoffs, they are one win away from playing for a state championship on Friday night. The ‘green and white’ Bulldogs will play Columbus Watterson in Xenia.

What makes this season special that it is the first time since 1998 that the Bulldogs have advanced this far in the playoffs. Celina also won their first Western Buckeye League title since 1995…a year to remember. Combined record between the two two teams 23-3.

It is a great time to be one of the two ‘Celina’ football teams…the Bobcats and the Bulldogs.
