(1-14-24) The Celina Girls Bowling team spent the day Saturday traveling to and from Colonial Lanes in Mount Vernon where they picked up the title against 10 other teams in the Cougar Classic.

Bowling on a challenging college level pattern, strikes were tough to come by, but the lady dogs spent the day shooting spares and taking whatever strikes they could. It seemed like all day whenever one person would struggle the rest of the team would pick them up and pull through which earned us the number 1 seed by over 300 pins for a spot in the finals of the stepladder championship round.

After a long wait for our time to bowl, the ladies dropped the first game of the best 2 out of 3 baker game finals, but as they had done all day the continued to battle and pick each other up and captured the last two games to come home victorious.

Our captain, Chablis Krick (above), had another great day with a 492 series earning her a spot on the All Tournament team. Ryann Eckhardt added a 188 game, Corinne Westgerdes 183 game, and Brynly Huber a 170 game. The ladies also brought home some additional hardware for highest baker game with a 234 (the second highest baker game was a 181, which they rolled too).

Overall, all 8 ladies came together and supported each other all day which is why they were able to bowl well and bring home the win! Great job ladies!
Thank you to all of our fans that made the long trip as well as the locals that came out to support us as well. Your cheering was noticed and appreciated, and we definitely needed the pick me up in the first game of the finals!
