(2-24-24) Eight Celina girl wrestlers represented the Bulldogs in the Region 2 Northwest Sectional at Archbold. All 8 placed top 6 with 4 advancing to next week’s regionals at Marysville with the opportunity to move on the State finals. Two Bulldogs also secured the alternate spot and can potentially continue on.

Kenzie Miracle (105) improved to 32-5 on the season after winning her NW sectional.

Ava Kelley (100) improved to 26-6 on the season when she claimed the 2nd title of the night for the Bulldogs.

Lamis Jones (190) dropped her championship match in the second period after a scoreless 1st to qualify for next weekends regional.

Melanie Buschor (125) 18-17 finished in 4th place to also qualify for Regionals next weekend in Marysville.

Larissa Jackson (130) 18-11 dropped two heartbreaking matches, but won her 5th place match to secure an alternate spot and potentially advance to Regionals.

Ashton Lehman (135) 11-11 followed Larissa’s lead and battled back to capture 5th place and also possibly advance next week.

Natalie Bernholt (110) 12-13 won her first round match over the #4 seed, but lost next to the eventual champion and then twice more to finish in 6th place.

Jaidyn Regedanz (120) was winning her alternate match for 5th place before getting reversed and then pinned to take 6th.

The girls overall finished in 3rd place out of 19 schools despite filling only 8 of the 14 weight classes.
