(3-9-24) The Celina Girls Bowling team’s first trip to the state finals ended today.

The Bulldogs ended 11th out of 16 teams and just missed the final cut by 27 pins.

Piper Gilliland led the team with a 529 series and Ryann Eckhardt added a 523 series.

From Celina Bowling Coach Josh Goff—-

We made history today.

While the results were not what we expected from ourselves, today was a successful day. For the first time in team history, our girls competed in the State Bowling Tournament finishing 11th, 27 pins below the cut line.

Piper Gilliland led the team with a 529 series and Ryann Eckhardt added a 523 series. While we were right at the line all day, we just didn’t have enough for the final push to make it into the top 8.

Thank you to everyone that traveled to support us today and all season long and those of you that watched and cheered us on from home. The outpouring of love and support for this team has been amazing and a big part of why we were able to accomplish all that we have.

This was truly a great season by a great group of student athletes. I couldn’t be more proud of what they have accomplished. The girls program had 17 members this year leading to an undefeated JV season and a Varsity State Tournament run.
