(7-16-24) At last night’s Celina City Schools Board of Education meeting the Celina girls wrestling program was moved from a club sport to a varsity sport.
With the change the BOE authorized a change in the supplemental to Head Varsity Boys and Girls Wrestling coach and also approved an Assistant Wrestling Coach supplemental position.
Celina grad James Miracle has been the head coach and has turned the Bulldog program into one of the top mat teams in the Western Buckeye League. Miracle has been a strong supporter of the girls program.

In January 2022 girls wrestling was added by the OHSAA as an emerging sport. In April the NFHS said that girls wrestling was growing at a fast rate and had 50,016 participants in 6,545 schools nationwide.
Recently both Indiana and Illinois sanctioned girls wrestling as an official association sport.
