(9-17-24) St. Marys won the 2024 Western Buckeye League (WBL) Golf Tournament shooting a 407, 12 strokes better then 2nd place Defiance who had a team score of 419. Leading the Roughriders was a 3rd place finish by Lilleigh Sampson with a 98, Kallie McKinley shot a 98 to finish 4th and Rilyn McGlothen shot a 107 and finished 8th as an individual.
With the win and a perfect WBL dual season the Roughriders are the 2024 WBL overall champions.
Only eight schools competed in the tournament, Van Wert and Elida did not have a team score.
Defiance Sophomore Ava Hesselschwardt was the tournament medalist shooting a WBL tournament record 76. She was the top-point getter maxing out with a 132 points during the dual meets and the tournament, a WBL record.
Celina’s Brooke Baucher was 2nd individual shooting a 93 and collecting 128 points.
