Undefeated Coldwater Wins First State Championship

DAYTON, OH – Coldwater took home its first state championship after defeating Marion Pleasant in three sets (25-28, 25-18, 25-12) in the Division VI state final Saturday at the Nutter Center at Wright State University. 

Coldwater (29-0), ranked first in the final regular-season OHSVCA coaches poll, finished its season undefeated. The Cavaliers made four appearances in the state tournament (2024, 2022, 2017, 1994). 

Coldwater was led by senior Morgan Blasingame with 16 kills, and junior Mia Knapke with 28 assists. 

Pleasant (25-4) made its first appearance in the state tournament. The Spartans sophomore Kamryn Cocherl had 19 kills and senior Sydney Smith had 28 assists.
