(12-13-24) The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Board of Directors decided this past year to add three more divisions to both boys and girls basketball state tournament. Member schools were not able to vote on the change, it was dictated by the Board to make the move forward.

D V, D VI and D VII will compete for the first time in the new format.

Here is a look at what to expect when the tournament starts.

Below is a line-up and brackets for the Boys Southwest tournaments that was released yesterday. Other district details have not been released.

Southwest District

The biggest change comes in the Final Four…all state semifinal games in all ‘7’ divisions will be played one week before the state championships are played. No word on where these games will be played.

All ‘7’ state final games will be played during two days at UD Arena, three on Friday and four on Saturday.
