(1-30-25) Three additional division championships, semifinal games played at different sites and all 7 division title games being played on two separate days at the UD Arena.
Attendance has dropped or leveled off in recent years for the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) state boys basketball championships.

2025 Championships
State Semifinals: March 12-15 (Sites TBA)
This is a change from the four division set-up….all semifinal games were played the same weekend at the same site. Sites most likely will be located centrally for teams in each region, much like football currently does.

In a February 3rd, 2024 Toledo Blade story by Dave Briggs…
OHSAA executive director Doug Ute addressed what he called a social media narrative — “everything we do is a money grab” — without prompting, saying, “This has nothing to do with the money.”
