(8-9-25) Carroll’s Jimmy Sullivan after three successful years graduated this past spring. Sullivan was the starting QB during that time after he transferred from Homestead…just before the start of his sophomore season. This mean the Chargers were in need of a new QB for 2025.
This past May Leo’s starting QB from last season Grayson Esguerra announced on ‘X’ that he was transferring to Carroll. Problem solved for the Chargers by another transfer. Esguerra will be a Senior this year and after a good 2024 season.

There are still two weeks until the start of the 2025 season…in several pre-season interviews Carroll Head Coach Doug Dinan has indicated that Gabe Frisinger (Jr, 6’2 190) was the #1 QB at this time.

Indiana’s Transfer Portal
The future of Indiana high school athletics, like many other states around the country, will see lots of interesting transfer stories in the future. This year is the first year that transfers will have some type of IHSAA direction. It might be noted that many states have seen state legislatures push for these changes.
Not all transfers that take place have happy endings. So learning in the future what has happened in the past should be considered.
A transfer is not always the answer.
