(10-19-25) Taking a look at how the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) football qualifiers look after week 9 in 2025.

D VII Region 28 is well known in Ohio thanks to the Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC). With the new format this year, 12 qualifiers in a region and bye weeks, MAC teams will be well represented.

According to Joe Eitel’s rankings…

Two MAC members, defending D VII state champions Marion Local and St. Henry, have clinched a playoff spot and a bye week. This is the first time the bye week has come into play in Ohio.

Two other MAC members, Auglaize County Neighbors New Bremen and Minster, have both clinched a playoff spot and will play in round 1 games.

Still with a chance to qualify is Ft. Recovery who sits at #13…the Indians on Friday lost to Anna 28-24, this week they play Minster with a win they could move into the top 12. They trail #11 Cedarville and #12 Manchester.

Other Stateline area schools….

In D III Region 10… Wapakoneta has clinched a playoff spot and receives a week one bye, while St. Marys has clinched a playoff spot presently in the #10 spot and will play in round 1 of the playoffs. Shawnee, currently at #4, has also clinched a playoff spot, while at #13 Defiance could use a win to sneak in. Celina has been mathematically eliminated.

In D IV Region 14…Bath at #2 clinches a playoff spot and has a chance to acquire a bye week. Van Wert at #15 and Elida at #17 both have an outside chance to move up to a playoff spot. O-G has been mathematically eliminated.

In D V Region 20…Versailles ranked at #14 needs a win to move up to the top 12, with the best spot they could acquire being at #8.

In D VI Region 24….Coldwater, who plays Marion Local on Friday, has clinched a playoff spot at #4, but does not have a bye week secured. Anna is presently at #6 but has not clinched a spot yet.

In D VII Region 26…Waynesfield-Goshen is at #14 but needs a win to even have a chance to move in to the top 12. Delphos St. John’s has been mathematically eliminated.

In D VI Region 22…Parkway has been mathematically eliminated.
