Graser’s Last Game

(4-25-26) Maddox Graser was a sophomore at Wooster High School in Wooster, Ohio, where he played baseball (as a second baseman) and was also involved in wrestling.

On Tuesday evening, April 21, he had two hits in Wooster’s 10-0 home win over West Holmes.. After the game Graser became seriously ill that evening and was rushed to the hospital in Wooster. His condition then worsened and was later life-flighted to Akron’s Children’s Hospital where he was in Pediatric ICU.

Graser passed away today.

The district has made counselors available, opened spaces for students to gather and receive support, and is collecting cards/memorial items.

Wooster High School Principal Margaret Davis described him on Facebook—

“Maddox was an outstanding student, athlete, and friend, and he will be deeply missed in our building. We know there are often no words that can console or relieve us from our grief, and over the coming days and weeks, we expect students may experience a number of emotions.”

The Wooster baseball team posted a tribute calling him family and noting the energy and smile he brought to the group.

A GoFundMe was set up earlier in the week to support Maddox and his family during the crisis.

The community, including other schools and sports programs, have shared condolences and prayers.
