(5-16-26) The 2026 Western Buckeye League championships were held in Kenton this week.

The O-G girls and Shawnee boys brought home the championship trophies.

Shawnee Boys Track (10): 26, 23, 21, 93, 66, 65, 64, 63, 58, 56

Multiple Individual League Champs:
Elisha Reddick (Elida) – 200 & 400
Colin Buening (Celina) – 1600 & 3200
Israel Ross (Shawnee) – 110 Hurdles & 300 Hurdles

The Titan girls streak is now five titles in a row.

O-G Girls Track (10): 26, 25, 24, 23, 22, 07, 06, 05, 04, 80

Multiple Individual Champs:
Alivia Grothause (OG) – 100 & 200
Alison Hemmelgarn (CEL) – 100 Hurdles & 300 Hurdles

O-G girls coach Matt Burwell told the Lima News-

“I think we got nine first-place finishes and multiple seconds. And we had a lot of double-placing, which was huge. I give a lot of credit to Celina. They have an amazing team. And I said at the beginning of the year that I thought it was going to be us (O-G and Celina), battling for one-two. Their coach and everyone did a really nice job.
