(8-27-26) According to a Fremont City Schools statement the Fremont Ross Little Giants will forfeit Friday night’s 22-21 win over Tiffin Columbian.
Tiffin Columbian will play Mansfield Sr. on Friday, while Fremont Ross will play Sandusky.

Tiffin – Tiffin Columbian came up just short in a tightly contested season opener Friday night, falling to Fremont Ross 22-21.
The two teams battled through a scoreless first quarter before Fremont Ross took a 13-7 lead into halftime. Columbian cut into the deficit in the third quarter, but the Little Giants remained in front 16-14 heading into the final period. The Tornadoes continued to battle in the fourth, but Ross held on for the one-point victory.
Columbian finished the night with 345 yards of total offense, including 215 yards through the air and 130 on the ground.
Quarterback Logan Gooding completed 14 of 29 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Daelan Brandeberry caught two passes for 56 yards and a touchdown, while Blake Miller added three receptions for 58 yards and a score. Braden Egbert hauled in two passes for 37 yards and a touchdown, and Dazarius Russell led the Tornadoes with five receptions for 43 yards.
On the ground, Masen Seitz led Columbian with 92 yards on 20 carries.
The Tornado defense turned in a strong performance, limiting Fremont Ross to just 190 yards of total offense. The Little Giants finished with 110 rushing yards and 80 passing yards. Columbian had 1 turnover.
Despite the narrow setback, the Tornadoes showed plenty of positives on both sides of the ball in a game that remained in doubt until the end.
