(9-27-26) So let’s solve a puzzle… the 2026 FWCS Holiday Basketball Tournament to be held in December.
The Holiday tournament in the past before COVID ended it for several seasons, was the Summit Athletic Conference (SAC) tournament.
This tournament will feature only the five Ft. Wayne Community Schools (North Side, South Side, Wayne, Northrop and Snider)…the two day tournament will be played at North Side (day 2) and South Side (day 1).
Superintendent Dr. Mark Daniel –
“We are excited to bring back the FWCS Holiday Tournament. It is an opportunity for our student-athletes to compete and for students, families, alumni and community members to come together and support our schools. We look forward to making this event part of the holiday season once again.”
So what about the other five SAC members?
The three private schools– Bishop Dwenger, Bishop Luers and Concordia (headed to the ACAC next year). Unless they have a fairy godmother they are not invited. Interesting for sure.
Then you have the two BIG schools who are the redheaded step-children … Carroll and Homestead.
