(12-24-16) Christmas tournaments have shaken-up the National Boys Basketball ratings this week.

A new #1 is in place in the Public School rankings, Chino Hills (Calif) 11-0 and a 46 game winning streak and replaces Norcross who had a tough week and falls all the way down to #11.

Sierra Canyon (7-0) remains in the #1 spot for Private schools.

Two Chicago (Curie and Simeon) and two Seattle (Garfield and Nathan Hale) schools make up a part of the Public Schools top rated  teams.

Both polls saw new schools break into this week’s rating, four join the Private rankings and four in the Public school rankings.

MaxPreps High School Top 25 boys basketball national rankings

(second # is the ranking each school has in the MaxPreps Top 25, the third # is last week’s ranking) MaxPreps will run separate high school boys basketball rankings for teams that compete for state championships as part of recognized governing body (High School Top 25) and those that do not (Independent Top 10).

We went one step more on the MaxPreps Top 25 listings, separating schools as public and private. #1 Private is Sierra Canyon, with Chino Hills being the #1 rated public school.
