(4-27-17) Two more Celina Bulldogs will be playing soccer in college, Jarren Castro and Aden Gariety . Both have decided to continue their careers at DIII Defiance College.

Gariety said on his NCSA profile this year:

As a kid I dreamed of playing professionally and as I grew older I realized college soccer is a good place to start. As an athlete I give it all I have and more. I love the game and I love playing goalie. Its natural to me and I hope I can carry this dream into the next level after high school.

Both players were keys in Celina’s run this season, including a WBL title and a berth in the OHSAA State semifinals.

Castro led the Bulldogs with 27 goals and 10 assists on the season, while Gariety, a first year starter in goal, had 11 shutouts and a goals-against average below one.

Castro was 1st team all-WBL and Gariety was named to the 3rd team.

Celina Head Coach Ryan Jemkins:

Jarren Castro

One of Jarren’s goals was to play at the next level.  I am happy to see that he found a place to accomplish that goal.  He had a very successful career and was our leading scorer the last two seasons.  Hopefully he can continue that success the next four years at Defiance.

Aden Gariety

Aden had an outstanding season as goalkeeper recording 11 shutouts this past fall.  I know he is looking forward to competing for the goalkeeper position at Defiance.  I am happy for him and look forward to following Defiance College soccer the next few years.
