(9-26-17) The St. Henry Girls Golf team will advance to district play at Arlington’s Sycamore Springs Golf Course next week after placing 3rd at the OHSAA D II Sectionals at the Celina Lynx. The Redskins as a team shot a 362, to place behind 1st place LCC with a 342 and Wayne Trace with a 346.
St. Henry was led by Ellen Naumann (43-40) and Karlee Staugler (41-42) who both shot a 83.
Ft. Recovery shot a 463, Coldwater shot a 478 and Marion Local a 483.
Sectional medalist, St. Marys’ Jill Schmitmeyer, who is a member of the Roughriders boys team and competing as an individual, tied a Sectional record with a 69 (35-34). The Senior has now qualified for Districts all four years of her high school career.
The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advance to districts next week.
