St. Henry Defense vs Parkway

(11-1-17)- The FINAL update of the Mercer County HS Football stats after week 10 of the regular season.

Celina’s Kole Murlin is the county scoring champ with a 167 points, his kicking played a big part in his production. Ft. Recovery’s Will Homan was the runner-up with 138 points.

When is comes to rushing no one came close to Ft. Recovery’s Will Homan.  Homan had a record breaking regular season, rushing for 2,267 yards and helping the Indians qualify for the playoffs in the process. This year’s runner-up was Celina QB Brett Schwieterman, who had a big second half of the season and rushed for 963 yards on the season.

Coldwater’s Jacob Wenning led the county in pass receiving yardage with 801 yards on 43 catches. Celina’s Dillon Hoying was runner-up with 706 yards.

Coldwater’s Sam Broering, who started his first year at QB,  led the county in passing with 1,773 yards in helping the Cavs make the playoffs. St. Henry’s Daylon Lange was the runner-up with 1,578 yards. In total four QBs passed for 1,400 yards or more in 2017.

Besides being a big offensive threat, Celina’s Kole Murlin can play a little defense too. Murlin led the county with 104 tackles. Ft. Recovery’s Ethan Schoen was the runner-up with 99 tackles.

The other three defensive categories were led by St. Henry Redskins’, Tyler Schlarman with 8 sacks, Sam Lefeld with 5 interceptions and Parker Link with 3 fumble recoveries, along with Coldwater’s Jacob Hartings and Parkway’s Andrew Baker.
