
(11-24-17) Junior guard Natalie Krause hit the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to give St. Viator a 44-43 triumph over St. Charles East in the fourth round of the Schaumburg Thanksgiving Tournament on Tuesday night. The momentum from that win carried over to Saturday morning when the Lions beat Evanston 61-57. With the St. Viator win both teams finished at 3-2 for the tournament.
The Lions used their speed against the taller Wildkits and would have a good night at the free throw line hitting 20 of 26, Myia Clark was 12 of 13 from the line, Olivia Solimene went 7 of 9. Evanston went the to the line 13 times and hit 8. St. Viator had 4 point 3-point FGs, while Evanston hit on 3.
Myia Clark, who recently signed with D1 St. Louis, led the Lions with 23 points and Olivia Solimene (Sr. 5’5), who was playing with the flu, added 17 .
Evanston was led by Kayla Henning (5’7 Soph) who had 13 points, while Ambrea Gentle added 11 points.
