(12-1-17) The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control voted 7-3 today to rescind the shot clock for basketball for the 2019-20 season, less then six months after passing it. The board also voted 6-4 against a plan to add the shot clock in 2021-22.

The shot clock plan was originally approved in June, but some athletic directors said they did not like the plan. Many said they were concerned about the costs of installing clocks and training operators.

Wisconsin would have been the ninth state to approve this measure. Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, Washington, New York, California, North Dakota and South Dakota already have a shot clock in place.
