Celina Baseball Association:
Non-profit foundation called the Celina Baseball Association, which consists of Celina Baseball Coach Andy Mikesell and Celina parents.
The group feels they can complete the following for under $63,000 -replace and enlarge the concession stand, press box and dugout, plus add a new indoor batting cage.
City of Celina:
The city’s insurance company has guaranteed at least $34,000 for the destroyed press box and concession stand, plus money for the damaged lighting and fenceInsurance money will be used to demolish the existing buildings and removing old foundations and to clean up the site
Agrees the Association could get the work done quickly and less expensive than the city. The Association would not have to solicit bids or pay prevailing wages, relying instead on donations and deeply discounted contract work.
The new buildings would be deeded over to the city after they are completed.
Target date for Montgomery Field to be able to be used would be April 1st, 2018.
