(1-10-18) Two Limaland schools have selected new head football football coaches to guide their programs. Both are returning to the area after venturing out for several years.

Bath Miller

Western Buckeye League Member Lima Bath, following board approval on January 16th, will hire 2000 Bath graduate Bryant Miller.

Besides his roots at Bath, Miller was the defensive coordinator at Celina (2008-11) under Jared Rolfes (presently the Head Coach at Page HS in North Carolina) and later would join Rolfes as his offensive coordinator at Northwest Guilford (NC). Just last spring he took his first head coaching job at Western Guilford (Greensboro, NC), the Hornets went 0-11 on the season.

Miller also was the defensive coordinator at Bluffton (2012-2015) before moving on to North Carolina.

Miller replaces Bill Garland, who retired after five seasons as the head coach.

Wesley Schroeder will be the new head coach at Northwest Conference member Allen East, he was hired today by the Allen East Board of Education.

This will be the first head coaching position for Schroeder, who has been an assistant coach since 2008.

Schroeder replaces Mike Abbey who in seven seasons had an overall record of 24-46, including last season when they were 2-8.


Schroeder’s first coaching job was at his alma mater Leipsic (2008-11),  he was the quarterback coach and junior varsity head coach. His next stop was at Lima Senior (2012-16) where he was the wide receivers coach and the junior varsity offensive coordinator. His last stop before taking the Allen East position was at  Olentangy Liberty, where he was the wide receivers coach and varsity co-offensive coordinator at.
