(1-15-18) One of the premier high school boys basketball tournaments in Ohio had some excitement off the floor today.
Upper Arlington, featuring Dane Goodwin, was scheduled to play Wayne in the final day of the Flyin’ To The Hoop.
That’s when tweets from both sides started hitting twitter.
The most interesting tweet came when the tournament tweeted that they were looking for a possible opponent to replace Upper Arlington, who would not be traveling to Kettering. 22 minutes later the game was canceled and the schedule revised.
Meanwhile tweets were sent out by the Upper Arlington basketball team were sent out. The first tweet had a video attached and said the Golden Bears would be trabveling to Kettering to play Wayne, just that fast the next tweet said the game had been canceled because of the weather.
That was followed-up by a tweet saying that the game could ‘possibly’ be made up later in the season.
It has been a rough weather weekend for travel for many Buckeyes, but Upper Arlington was the only school to not make the tournament.
It is tough for everyone involved in this situation, for the tournament officials it caused some very anxious moments. It is also a disappointing day for players on both teams to show off on a national platform.
