(4-5-18) Greenville Softball Coach Jerrod Newland recently picked up his 400th career coaching win for the Green Wave.

Newland told earlybirdpaper.com about his accomplishment:

“It’s all about the kids. I still don’t have a hit – still don’t have a win. It’s the name on the front. I really appreciate the support from the community and fans – that’s as good as it gets when you look out and you see the large crowds. It’s just a breath of fresh air for everyone. So proud to have the chance to lead it the last 16 years.”

Newland’s resume includes one D II state title in 2007 beating St. Marys 1-0. Newland also led the Green Wave to the final four two other times (2010 and 2012).
