(5-16-18) The first night of OHSAA District Track competition is in the books.

Stateline teams competed in two different district locations.

In Defiance at the D II Girls Districts, Coldwater ends the first day in 8th place with7.5 points and Celina was 9th with 7 points.

Qualifying for the regionals was Celina’s 4×800 meter relay team (Caleigh Ross, Sara Wenning,  Emma Lutz  and Lauren Jackson 12) who finished 3rd.

The other Bulldog to finish with points was high jumper Sophie Wiley who finished 8th.

Picking up points for Coldwater were long jumper Erin Kremer and the 4×800 meter relay team (Krista Walterbusch, Sara Honigford, Brittany Walterbusch and Beth Honigford) who finished 5th.

Pole Vault Regional Qualifiers – Cameron By and Galen Backs

In the Defiance D II boys meet Coldwater was 4th with 16 points.

Leading the way was regional qualifiers in the pole vault, Galen Backs who finished in 2nd place and teammate Cameron Bye who finished in third place.

The other Cav to earn points on the day was Thomas Schwieterman in the shot put, he finished in 7th place.

At Findlay in the D I District Celina ended day one in 2nd place with 21 points, just two points behind 1st place Norwalk.

Celina’s Tyler Ross was the only Stateline athlete to pick up a district championship winning the Discus, while teammate Drake Langenkamp also qualified for regionals finishing in 4th place.

In the long jump two Bulldogs scored points, Isaac Connoly finished in 5th place and Kyle Flaute finished in 7th place.
