(5-21-18) SSN named its 2018 All Mercer County Baseball Team.

2018 is a season that Ft. Recovery fans will remember for a very long time. The Indians picked up their first ever MAC boys basketball championship and sharing it with neighbor St. Henry.

Named Co-MVPs are the Indians’ Nick Thwaits (Sr) and Cade Wendel (Sr), the main forces behind the MAC title run. Both will continue to pitch at the next level, Thwaits at D I Kent State and Wendel headed to D II Lake Erie College.

The two gave Ft. Recovery one of the top pitching staffs in the Stateline area, plus both had outstanding careers at the plate.

Co-Champion St. Henry places five players on the team, Rylee Deitsch, Jay Knapke, Daylon Lange, Ryan Luttmer and Parker Link.

Coldwater, who just beat Ft. Recovery in the D III District Final game, places four on the the team Cole Frilling,  Jacob Wenning,  Nathan Grunden and Austin Riethman.

Rounding out the All County team is Parkway’s Clayton Agler and Celina’s Parker Mauer.
