(5-23-18) Yesterday at the Marion (Indiana Wesleyan University) Girls Track Regionals, South Adams’ Addie Wanner put on a show.

Indiana does not have divisions in state track competition, making Wanner’s day even more impressive. The Starfires were competing against schools much larger then they are, including Ft. Wayne City Schools.

Wanner led the Starfires to a 3rd place team finish, scoring 28 of their 39 points. Wanner  picked up a regional title in the 100 meter hurdles and high jump and a 2nd place finish in the long jump. With that performance she qualifies for state in three events.

Kallee Patch finished 2nd in the 800 meter run and will join Wanner at the state meet.

The 4×800 meter relay team (Eliza Harruff , Kallee Patch, Olivia Von Gunten and Megan Miller ) picked up three points finishing in 6th place.

Bellmont finished 22nd with 5 points.

The State Meet will take place on June 1st at the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex, Indiana University, Bloomington.
